Grzegorz Czapliński --> FreeBSD --> Sun

Sun Servers Configurations
Sun Enterprise 250
Running FreeBSD 5.0.
From the user:
If you don't use a serial console but try to use the system console , it is hard to set things up because the console driver isn't fully ported yet. It's best to opt for the monochrome driver at startup and you then have to use Ctrl+P (up) and Ctrl+N (down) to navigate through the menus, the arrow keys don't work. All menu's will be kind of iffy but you'll be able to see what you're doing if you've got some affinity with sysinstall.

Sun[tm] Fire V65x
Viev System configuration in the Sun System Handbook.
Hardware setup:
Stock v65x, 4GB RAM, onboard adaptec 7902, but equipped with the RAID card. Card is basically a version of a GDT8500RZ of ICP-Vortex, but with slight changes. it is probed as iir, but the sysutils/icpconf util is still working on this. The RAID announces itself as Intel RAID foo bar blah... There were 4 SCSI HDD in, two each as RAID1.

Note: (5.1-p11 bombed out due to problems with 4GB RAM; and therefore init because of missing RAM (device/PCI mapping into RAM) bombing out)

2 Intel GigE onboard, and a dualport NIC as add-on.
Machine is basically an Intel OEM Machine with slight changes to display SUN vendor tags...
Ok, attached there are some dmesg and other stuff from 4.9-Release:
dmesg.49
mptable.49-GENERIC
mptable.49-verbose
pciconf

and 5.2-Release:
52-dmesg-GENERIC
52-mptable-GENERIC
52-mptable-GENERIC-verbose
acpidump
pciconf

As one can see, there's heavy acpi difference...
